Community Chest
Removing Barriers to Energy Savings
Mass Save provides free or discounted energy-efficiency upgrades that can lower energy bills, improve comfort, and reduce pollution. But sometimes contractors can’t begin the recommended work until other repairs are completed first.
The catch? Those necessary repairs often aren’t covered by Mass Save or other assistance programs.
As a result, many households never receive the energy-saving improvements they are eligible for.
BEAT’s Community Chest program helps bridge that gap.
The Community Chest provides forgivable loans of up to $4,000 to help cover repairs that stand between a household and the energy-efficiency improvements recommended through a Mass Save Home Energy Assessment.
By addressing these barriers, we can help residents unlock larger energy-saving investments, reduce monthly utility costs, and create healthier, more comfortable homes.
