Women Championing Zero Waste

March 26, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Women have long been catalysts for environmental change. This is especially true in the Zero Waste movement – the principles of which are deeply rooted in ancient cultures and indigenous traditions. But in today’s modern world, championing Zero Waste comes in many different shapes and sizes. And women are often at the forefront.

On March 26 from 1-2pm ET, Just Zero is celebrating the instrumental role women have played in the Zero Waste movement. Joining Just Zero are Jo Banner from The Descendants Project, Maris Masellis from Tennessee Environmental Council, and Maria Vasco from Uvida Shop.

These incredible women work in various capacities to bring traditional Zero Waste principles – like reducing waste, conserving resources, and reusing materials – to communities across the United States.

Building the Zero Waste world we all deserve can be hard. Especially when we’re up against corporate polluters who want to keep us hooked on toxic waste systems that endanger public health and our environment. Fortunately for all of us, these strong women – and many others across the globe – are up for the challenge. RSVP to hear directly from these champions.
