ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Ben Nickley is a researcher with a passion for birds and the natural landscapes that they are an integral part of. Over the past several years, Ben has traveled across North America to conduct field studies in many exceptional places, and attended college and grad school along the way. Of all the places they’ve been — from the Cypress swamps of the Southeast to the high meadows of the Sierra Nevada — they love nothing more than the Northeastern Deciduous Forest. Ben feels truly privileged to have landed in the Berkshires and to have support from Green Berkshires, BBO’s parent organization. Ben hopes to garner continued support from the Berkshire community to ensure the longevity of BBO as a social, scientific, and conservation institution in this wonderful region.

Covid Precautions: We do not have an indoor mask requirement at this time, but ask people to please not attend the in-person event if they are feeling ill or have any flu-like symptoms. We also ask that if you’re unvaccinated, please use caution and wear a mask if you cannot maintain 6 feet of distance between yourself and others.

What is Pittsfield Green Drinks? Pittsfield Green Drinks is an informal gathering on the third Tuesday of the month. A guest speaker talks for about 30 minutes beginning at 6 PM, and the presentation is followed by a discussion and Q&A. These nights are free and open to everyone with any environmental interest. The drinks aren’t green but the conversations are. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join and bring along questions!

What is Green Drinks? Green Drinks is an international forum where people who work in the environmental field meet for a drink and snacks at informal sessions. There will be a lively mix of people from non-profit organizations, academia, government, business, and the general public. Green Drinks is a great way of catching up with people you know and for making new contacts. These networking events are very simple and unstructured. Come along and you’ll be made welcome.
