Join DCR for an enlightening 1.2-mile walk in celebration of the historic 1844 ascent of American naturalist and writer Henry David Thoreau to the summit of Mount Greylock; a prelude to Thoreau’s experience at Walden Pond. This event features selected readings from Thoreau’s account with a short 1-mile segment of the Appalachian Trail to a scenic vista.

Meet at the summit.

FREE for ages teen-adult. Children under the age of 18
must be accompanied by an adult.
Pre-registration is recommended.
Be prepared for the weather; wear sturdy shoes; bring water, lunch, bug spray, and sunscreen.
