Join MassRecycle and tour UTEC Mattress Recycling in Lawrence.

UTEC is a youth service organization that provides job training, mentorship, and opportunity to young people in Lowell and Lawrence. At the same time, they learn the values of reuse, repurposing, and recycling.

UTEC’s unique model allows them to divert mattresses from the waste stream, recycling ~85% of each piece, and support their community efforts. They currently provide mattress recycling services to 15 Massachusetts municipalities, and process large numbers of mattresses from institutions throughout New England.
