Spend your morning helping Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary get ready for the busy spring and summer seasons. Work to trim trails, install bog bridges, straighten fences, clean and organize the Nature Play Area, remove invasive plants from around the property, and maintain native wildflower and shrub gardens to provide habitat for birds and insect pollinators.

Make sure to dress for the weather and a morning working outside. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, and work gloves if you have them. This work is suitable for older children and adults. Volunteers 16 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent and/or guardian.

Before starting work, you are invited to take part in a free guided bird walk from 7:30–8:30 am. Then, enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a breakfast snack from 8:30 to 9:00 am while you meet other volunteers, take in the beauty of nature, and learn more about the importance of the work you will be doing.

After your work in the morning is done, enjoy a pizza lunch to celebrate your accomplishments. Then hit the trails and explore the sanctuary for the remainder of the day, with free admission.
