Walk Through an Old Growth Forest at Ice Glen Ravine (Housatonic Heritage Walks)

October 1, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join this small excursion with Chelsey Simmons from Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) through one of the oldest forests in Massachusetts, where you’ll walk among trees that are hundreds of years old and through a lush landscape of boulders thick with mosses. The Ice Glen Trail is considered difficult by some. Getting through the glacial ravine requires occasional climbing over, under, and around giant boulders. The walk will be around 1.5 miles and take about 2 hours.
