Experience Forest Bathing

May 28, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Saturday, May 28 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

This outdoor program is a sensory experience that incorporates elements of mindful breathing, centering, connecting with nature and our inner nature, and sit spot meditation culminating with a time for sharing and reflection. Shinrin Yoku is a Japanese term loosely translated to Forest Bathing which is the therapeutic act of taking in the forest atmosphere. Studies have shown many benefits forest bathing has to our health, such as lowering blood pressure, reducing stress hormones, enhancing creativity, and more.

Join Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center and leave relaxed and inspired with skills to access the healing benefits of nature right in your own backyard or local park! Led by Sandy Wilson, certified Kripalu Mindfulness Outdoor Guide and Capital Region mindfulness outdoor guide.

This experience is suitable for anyone able to walk at a slow pace on easy to moderate, uneven, possibly muddy, trails. Sturdy walking shoes are a must.

Pre-registration is required for all programs. Register at least 24 hours in advance by calling (518) 658-2055 or emailing dykenpond@gmail.com. Your registration is not complete until you receive confirmation from the Center.
