Introducing Learner’s Lab!

Have you ever wanted to can your own fruits and vegetables…brew your own beer…repair your bike…or knit a scarf, but you weren’t sure how to get started? Our newest BeMuse series, Learner’s Lab is the place to discover the ins and outs of food, gardens, and sustainable living skills. This series of workshops and demonstrations will feature community members teaching a fun and valuable skill to their fellow Berkshire residents.

Learner’s Lab kicks off at 10:30am on Saturday, August 23, when Hosta Hill will host a workshop on Vegetable Ferments – delicious and healthy foods like kraut and kimchi. Why not give it a try?

This workshop is included with Museum admission and is free for Museum members.

Learner’s Lab is sponsored in part by the Appelbaum-Kahn Foundation.

Climate Camp

When: August 7-10 and August 11, 2014

Where: The Wheelock Mountain Farm & Justice Center, West Wheelock Road, Greensboro Bend, VT

What: For artists! For creative thinkers! For people who have good ideas about making beautiful things! For activists and organizers who are interested in bringing more art and performance into their campaigns!

We want to place imagination center stage in the Climate Justice Movement. We think our direct actions and civil disobediences need a beautiful kick in the pants!

Climate Change is here. It’s the clearest call to action of our time and we are stepping up the fight. Yet as we raise the political stakes and organize to show resistance, we need to raise the stakes on the artistry of the actions and campaigns as well.

This session is specifically designed to support an artistic mobilization to The Peoples Climate March actions in NYC this September, and other climate justice campaigns in the Northeast. For more information, contact: TheMakeVermont@gmail.com
