On June 2, 1999 the Berkshire Kick-Off
\nClassic Soccer Tournament, a community-supported soccer
\ntournament, announced plans to improve the soccer fields on
\nthe campus of Berkshire Community College. The group pledged
\n$25,000<\/a> for the construction of
\nlights and a scoreboard and added “In conjunction with
\nlegislative funds, and the Kick-Off Classic donation, this
\nfacility will be a treasure to soccer enthusiasts throughout
\nPittsfield.” The construction of a pressbox was soon added
\nto the project.<\/span><\/td>\n		\"logo<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n
\nAt this time, the athletic fields of
\nBerkshire Community College along West Street in Pittsfield
\nincluded four soccer fields, a field house, and a swimming
\npool. Nearby there were a campus pond, a certified vernal
\npool, and a small stream.The project was an ideal partnership that
\ninvolved the soccer group, the college, and community
\nmembers, and could easily be implemented without harm to the
\nnearby wetlands. Environmental faculty at the college, who
\nhad for years used the vernal pool as an instructional site
\nfor students, supported the project, although they did
\nremind college administrators of environmental safeguards
\nthat would need to be implemented during
\nconstruction.The base map is available at a

\nwas done on the fields. <\/span><\/p>\n
