On May 3rd everyone met at Wahconah Park for the first cleanup of the season. From there we split up into several groups to clean the area around Wahconah Park, the bridge on Wahconah St. by the cemetary, and Belair Pond – a widening of the brook from Pontoosuc Lake as it runs along Wahconah Street. After those locations people moved on to the area near the Mill Street dam, and the really dedicated stayed to the end to cleanup at Clapp Park as well.<\/p>\n

This cleanup was organized by the City of Pittsfield and included members of The Trustees of Reservations, Housatonic Valley Association, Housatonic River Initiative, Berkshire Environmental Action Team, and dedicated community volunteers.<\/p>\n
