{"id":11864,"date":"2014-08-14T14:05:07","date_gmt":"2014-08-14T18:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thebeatnews.org\/BeatTeam\/?page_id=11864"},"modified":"2015-07-13T11:21:03","modified_gmt":"2015-07-13T15:21:03","slug":"ferc-ferc-process","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.thebeatnews.org\/BeatTeam\/ferc-ferc-process\/","title":{"rendered":"About FERC and the FERC Process"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FERC stands for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, a federal agency with the authority to issue to companies a \u201ccertificate of necessity and convenience\u201d for pipelines that transport gas in interstate commerce.<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP), whose parent company is Kinder Morgan, must apply to FERC for a certificate of necessity and convenience for their proposed pipelines. (The Connecticut Expansion and Northeast Energy Direct) BEAT believes that because both these proposed pipelines are part of TGP&#8217;s Northeast Expansion, all the impacts from both phases of this proposed project should be considered to be sure we know the cumulative impacts of the full build out.<\/p>\n<p>TGP filed on September 16, 2014 for permission to Pre-File for the <strong>Northeast Energy Direct (NED) pipeline<\/strong>.<br class=\"none\" \/>If you want to follow this project, you can receive an email from FERC each time documents are posted by subscribing to this Docket No. PF14-22.
