SUMMARY:Opening Reception - How Shall We Live? Berkshire Youth Artists Explore Their Relationship with the Earth in the Time of Climate Change
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition is part of the How Shall We Live? Climate Art Show\, a Berkshire-wide program organized by Living the Change — Berkshires that invites students to explore climate change through art and reflection. \nIn this show\, Berkshire County high school students explore their relationship with the Earth through visual art and reflection. Responding to questions such as: \n• What does nature provide?         \n• What matters most?\n• What are the earth’s needs?\n• What is resilience?\n• Where do you find guidance and inspiration? \nStudents created artworks expressing their thoughts\, emotions\, fears\, and hope. \nAlong with the artwork\, students also prepared short artist statements\, many of which are powerful and deeply moving. Together\, the artworks and writings offer a window into how young people are experiencing this moment in time—revealing both the uncertainty they face and their resilience\, creativity\, and care for the natural world. \nAttend the opening reception to celebrate these remarkable young artists and the conversations their work inspires. \nThis event is organized in collaboration with The Clark Art Institute\, Living the Change Berkshires\, and Cooler Communities. The show will travel to Pittsfield City Hall (including a festive opening during First Friday Art Walk in May) and Dewey Hall in Sheffield from June 12 through June 20. \nThis show is made possible through generous support from the Feigenbaum Foundation\, Lee Bank\, and Greylock Federal Credit Union. \nDATE: Saturday\, April 18\nTIME: 2:30pm – 5:00pm\nLOCATION: Clark Art Institute\, Hunter Studio\, Lunder Center\, 225 South St\, Williamstown\, MA 01267
