Riverside Waste Transfer Station Gets An
Award
Toxics
Action Center "honored" Valley Mill Corporation
with one of its annual statewide Dirty Dozen awards for 2003.
Toxics Action cited public health threats from toxic dust and
increased diesel truck traffic in a residential neighborhood,
and turning a greenway along the banks of the Housatonic River
into a 250 tons a day construction and demolition waste processing
and transfer station, as reasons Valley Mill was chosen to receive
this award.

| This is the 7th
year that Toxics Action Center has chosen twelve of the Commonwealth's
top public health and environmental threats to receive awards. The
Dirty Dozen Awards highlight examples of environmental problems
that pose a significant threat to public health and the environment
and need immediate action by industry and/or government officials. |
