| The Rose Disposal Pit Superfund Site is located northwest of Balance Rock Road, just south of Balance Rock State Park. PCBs and volitle chemicals have contaminated the groundwater as deep as 80 feet below the surface. On MassGIS (Geographic Information Systems) maps, this area is part of a potential medium-yield aquifer that runs south into Pittsfield. |
